    Hello,

I'm looking for a high-quality notebook (mobile graphic workstation) to do
Compositing (AfterEffects, Combustion) and animation (2d and maybe 3d as well). Originally I thought about HP nc8430, but after reading this forum I'm
thinking about T60p notebook. But can you please clarify some things for me:

Lenovo - IBM : I guess it's all Lenovo now, right ? So if I order today I get
Lenovo notebook. Not that bothers me too much, but just to make sure.

Screen: The biggest problem with nc8430 is somewhat leaky screen. My
requirements for screen are quite high. I've read about FlexView with IPS
technology, which makes screen visibile in the same way from various angles.
This is important to me, however I don't see if T60p is actually equipped
with this FlexView IPS screen (15" or 14.1")... are they ?

Warranty: HP comes with 3 year warranty. I think I've seen somewhere that
IBM/Lenovo comes with same 3 year warranty... but looking at the site now,
    it says 1 year. So it's 1 year for T60p.. right ?

    1) It is indeed manufactured by Lenovo. However, Lenovo has a deal for the next few years that allows them to call their business line "IBM Thinkpad," so it will still say that on the computer.

    2) The 15" screens at 1600x1200 and 1400x1050 are all Flexview/IPS. This is true across the entire T60 and T60p line.

    3) The warranty varies by the exact model that you're buying. In some cases, two models with the exact same specs will have different model numbers based entirely on the warranty. If it says 1 year, it's one year and you can add more. If it says 3, then it's 3.

You can upgrade the warranty on Lenovo's site. It is $132 to upgrade to three years of depot repair. The FlexView is the best matte screen I have seen. HP I believe does offer a 30 day return if you want to try it out. Might want to ask before buying.

I recently purchased the 15" flexview T60 (1400/1080). Unfortunately, the 1400 flexview has not been on the website for a few weeks, and is no longer offered. The only flexviews are for the T60P 15" at a higher resolution (1600/) with a higher end graphics chip.
