    1) How would I reformat without a cd drive? Would a usb cd drive work?
    2) Does the webcam have a microphone as well?

    3) What kind of warranty (if worth it) should I get?

    Thanks!

    1) I don't believe a USB CD drive would work, but Windows 7 (and perhaps Vista) supports installation when booting off of a USB Key. You just have to format it properly (there are plenty of instructions online). Alternatively, there's a recovery partition on the computer, which you can use to restore the factory state.

    2) I believe the system has a microphone regardless of the webcam.

1)It will work with a usb cd/dvd drive. There is a option in the BIOS to select it.
I have a x61t and it boots off the USB cd drive with no problem.

1.- Yes, an external USB CD drive will work just fine. I recommend getting one if you are getting an X200.

2.- Yes, the webcam does have a microphone as well.

Depends. For me, I always get the base warranty, since I am betting that any problems will occur either in the first year, or late into the computer's life.

Unfortunately, that's not always the case, so some people get 3-year warranties. In-home is generally much better than depot warranties (when you have to ship it in), but it's more expensive.

I'm careful with my stuff, so I don't need the expensive accidental warranty.

In short, I'd say that if your laptop is quite expensive, it makes more sense to add a $100+ warranty upgrade to it, whereas if it is <$1000 in the first place, it's rather silly tacking on a $300 extended warranty that would be more than 1/3 of the price.

A lot of credit cards from visa and most Amexs will give you an additional year of warranty. Look into that. A lot of us like 2-3 years so if you can get a year under your credit card go with 2 years from lenovo.

Onsite might be worth it to you if you cant afford to send your laptop in. But depot is considerably cheaper.
