I'm currently looking at a Thinkpad t61 from the outlet. But before I buy (and while I wait for the outlet to come back) I had a couple of questions

If I buy one from the outlet can I extend the warranty on it?

Is everyone pretty happy with their t61s? I don't plan to do a lot of hard core gaming MAYBE some wow and older games so that isnt an issue as much as build quailty. I need a laptop that wont break from in and out of a bag all the time (its going on a deployment to afghanistan with me)

Anything I should know about this model?

I believe you cannot upgrade the warranty.

I would stay away from the T61s with the nVidia GPUs as they have higher failure rates. The T400/T500 are better choices.

@Zaz...Are you saying that if the OP buys a TP from a Lenovo outlet (I am slowly getting confused what this word means...does it mean a Lenovo-woned and operated store or a Lenovo reseller?) he cannot extend the Guarantee but if he buys online from Lenovo, he can? How strange.
