    Ok am thinking of going with the T61p 15.4" Notebook. Couple things I want to clear up...

    Does Lenovo's warranty come with some kind of pixel garentee? If not is there a reseller I can purchase from that customizes/ships to canada/has pixel garentee?

    Secondly ive been reading on theres two different panels in these, one from LG and one from Samsung... how do you tell the difference when you get it?

    Thanks =D

    It does not come with a pixel guaranatee, nor do I think you can purchase one, but I've been wrong before. You can use the parts look up in the sticky to see which screen you have.

    If you have 8 dead pixels you can get your laptop replaced.

    Please bear in mind that the T61p currently has a technical problem (it's a lottery whether you get it or not). It freezes or BSOD when the Quadro 570m card is used and when you have two DIMMs installed in your laptop.
    You may want to wait and see how this is resolved by Lenovo.

    There is no pixel guarantee and Lenovo charges a 15% restocking fee on exchanged/refunded computers. That being said, if you're persistent enough, they'll make an exception. Someone else (jooeee?) returned a computer, and I was able to also for a stuck pixel. It took some doing, though.

    Their guidelines are 5 dead, 5 stuck, or 10 combo before they'll accept it for service. Per the otherwise unhelpful tech support person, the depot will count 'em and send it back if it doesn't reach the threshold.

    Regarding the monitor, you cannot specify LG or Samsung during the build process. Once it's shipped, you'll get an email with the model number and your serial number. You can use those numbers to find out which components were used.

    YMMV

    No company has a pixel garuntee but I belive you have 30 days were you can send the laptop back if you are not happy.

    Wasn't Vista also part of the mix? I've got T91p w/ 2 DIMMS, & Quadro 570M card and XP and have had no issues since receiving the machine in mid February. Just one person's experience.

    Lots of companies have 0 dead pixel garentee's. Sager just to name one has it on there warranty service for 0 dead pixel garentee. Also a lot of resellers also offer it. For example www.ncix.com offers a insurance if you will on all monitors and laptops for a fee of $35 on monitors and $200 on laptops. If you have a dead or stuck pixel or anything you are just plain unhappy with the screen then you can send it back for a replacement.

    That's how it always goes... a lot of people seem to have a problem but then theres some that don't (and how many of those that don't actually post that they are working fine?)

    Asus also has a pixel guarantee (one year free I believe). I would have tried to live with a stuck pixel, but it was smack dab in the center of the screen. Just smiling at me.

    You don't have a 30 day grace period. If you return a CTO computer, you will be charged a restocking fee.

    It's an issue you have only with some motherboards. I have Vista x64, 2 dimms, and works like a charm

    Another questions... is this sale price on there website an ongoing thing or is only for a set time and really the laptop is $500 more then what I am looking at?
