Hey all. I made a post earlier today in the WNSIB forum, but I wanted to gather some information about the two models listed above. I am interested in these because of form factor and SLI capabilities. I am primarily looking at the y500 for more screen real estate, but will consider the y400 since it will be used when traveling. I know the major differences between the two but I'm looking for answers on (1) whether or not I can install Windows 7 on these machines and (2) how is the SLI driver performance on these models? I know in the past there were lots of issues with the drivers and SLI in these particular models. The games I'll be playing mostly are LoL, SWTOR, SC2, D3, SimCity 4. I can purchase the y500 SLI/i7 configuration from Newegg for ~$1000, which to me isn't a bad price for the performance capability.

Thanks in advance for any insight!

    1. Yes. I did a clean install of Win7 on mine.
