A lot of owners of thinkpads have the thinklight feature built in. Being one of them I came across a plugin for thunderbird today made by a NBR user: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/4540

I must admit very cool. There are also mods for people running linux, where pidgin (formerly gaim) will flash the thinklight when a message is received.

Now my question is, does anybody know of a trick like this for windows users? I would really like to see this happen, if not for an im client, then at least for email like gmail notifier. Anybody know of any currently existing mods like that or is there anybody with the programming knowledge that could make this happen?

I wonder if that would work with the t61p? I'm guessing not. But thanks for the post, any information is much appreciated!
