Well, as the title says, the L series Thinkpads are now up for sale on the US site.
Linkey: Lenovo - Laptop computers - ThinkPad L Series

Now, call it beating a horse to death, but I just can't help how much this, and the SL series looks almost identical

I thought the L series is just a renewed (and of course rebranded) SL series aiming at the corporate market? So basicly a few more "business" features and less "multimedia" (SL) features. I guess we will soon find out. I am curious if it has a real Thinkpad Bios. A student offer at my university sold the L-series since early february and there I read L is the SL for cost decreasing business user - a cheaper R model.

The L series' claim to fame is that they're made of recycled parts. Probably using the same design and internals as the SL series

I find this part of the description amusing:

    "Six-row, user-friendly keyboard design".

Frankly, I don't find scrambling the keys to cram them into six rows to be very user-friendly.
