First off, forgive me if this has been posted here before, but I checked all over the forum here and didn't find any mention of this machine ( besides the ones by Robert Hill with him coming out with something like this several years ago )
Does anyone own one of these ?
Thoughts ?

There isn't an official owners thread. But then again I figured the actual owner numbers on this forum can be counted by fingers.
@ZaZ thoughts? -
I own one of these. Not as my new main machine, but only to test it. My main machine is a ThinkPad P51, which the ThinkPad 25 sadly can´t replace for me.
The keyboard is pretty great. The backlight works so much better with the classical keys. It feels like its made out of higher-quality materials when I compare it with the keyboard of the T420 and there is significantly less flex to it. The keyboard is made by Chicony and while the keys have less travel (1.8 mm instead of 2.5 mm), the feeling is very similar to older ThinkPads. Not the best ThinkPad keyboard ever, but as I said, pretty darn great.
Chassis design is the same as the T470, so its solid. I like the fact that it has a rubberized palmrest like the X300 or the X1, which just gives it a more luxurious touch compared with the regular T470.
The biggest weak-point is the screen. Its IPS with good viewing angles and its a touchscreen, but the brightness is underwhelming (probably around 220 nits on mine) and the color gamut limited. It will beat any older ThinkPad with a TN screen, but it doesn´t hold a candle to other high-quality IPS screens in the market today.
Overall, if you are a dedicated ThinkPad fan and love the keyboard, this is the machine for you. It feels like a natural upgrade over machines like the T420s or X301. -
I posted this in the other thread already but here is my video again:
Yes, I concur with the comment above. The Keyboard is better. The screen is disappointing. If they used the same OLED 1440p touchscreen the X1 Yoga had, then it would be amazing. But yes sadly its a $500 upcharge for the graphics + keyboard. -
I believe an issue with OLED is that it needs the glass layer in front, so you would end up with a glossy screen.
The regular 2560x1440 IPS screen that Lenovo has in the T470s or X1 Carbon would have been a much better choice. It would have been great as well if Lenovo just announced it with the 8th gen CPUs and MX150 and waited maybe 1 or 2 months if necessary, so that it has the newest technology. -

Thank you all for the feedback !
I was wondering about the screen - if it was even IPS or what the nits were.
I don't even use my laptop on the road much anymore, and just use it as a home computer and was thinking of getting a new Thinkpad again. Since these were so $$$$ and had a limited run I probably won't even have the chance to pick one of these things up anyway. It looks amazing in that video review and all the pictures I've seen of it though. -

not even worth at this point imo
