Thinkpads have accelerometers (what detects the shake or movement and parks the hdd heads) that can be used for more than just protection.
Does anybody know of any programs that can take advantage of it?
Something like smackpad but for windows. I know linux has a few out there but there really isn't much for windows.
I've found this at least:

They've worked on some simple code. I'm guessing that might help a little. I was just hoping somebody would have more info regarding programs that use the accelerometer or somebody that would know how to code well enough to add to that ^ program to create one that could emulate neat effects in windows. -
i can't get neverball to work - i double click the neverball.exe and nothing happens, but i see the process in the task manager.
and i couldn't control tuxracer with my laptop.
any suggestions? i followed what the IBM site said
edit-i got tuxracer working. but not neverball
2nd edit - i got neverball to work, but not with the modified sdl.dll :? -

it's exactly as you described. I run it, and nothing happens. But i see neverball.exe in my task manager. I checked to see if i have msrvr71.dll and i do. So i'm not sure
I just dled neverball, extracted it, and replaced some files with the thinkpad accelerometer thing I think
