I am looking for a new hard drive to replace the 100gb in my Z60M.
It seems some hard drives come with their own shock protection feature (i.e. western digital scorpio hard drives have an option of with or without free-fall sensor).
When installing a hard drive with is own free-fall protection feature, would it conflict with the system found in the Thinkpad's?
Thanks,
-
I don't think so. If one doesn't catch a fall, the other could, so technically you would have better protection.
or you could always disable the Thinkpad one. -
I've not heard anything one way or the other, though it sees unlikely.

I have a Seagate hard drive with the G-Force protection feature in my X200. It's been working fine without any hassels.
