I have the Battery MaxiMiser program installed and the meter fluctuates +/- 10 minutes on my X30. I fully discharge and recharge the battery to recalibrate the battery and it still fluctuates. I'm ony surfing the internet so I'm not doing anything intensive.

Did I calibrate the battery correctly? Is the battery reaching toward the end of its life? It was manufactured in 2002, however, it still seems to hold a long charge.

It's just that the life is being estimated by current usage. It probably takes into account trends in order to help stabilize the calculation, but it's bound to happen.

What happens if you close down all processes except the absolutely essential, and do nothing but watch the gauge? Even then, it doesn't sound like you have a problem.
