I got it a week ago with my T400 and the next day the mouse stopped working on half the surfaces I tried. On the third day it just stopped working on any surface. By not working I mean its not tracking, the buttons work - its connected to the pc, however when I try to move the mouse the cursor does not follow, it does jump randomly if I aim the sensor at a light bulb though. So did anyone experience something like this or should I just contact lenovo?

Have you tried disassociating the mouse and re associating it with the machine? It that doesn't work then contact Lenovo immediately and ask for an exchange. BTW - I am using this mouse for the last 2 days and love it, none of the problems you mentioned.

A couple weeks of use here and it works on wood and Formica tables and the fuzzy couch for me. Try Snakes suggestion of disassociation. Great little mouse, hope you get it working.

Somewhat related... once the mouse is associated, does it have to stay turned on? I mean, if I shut down the laptop and then turn off the mouse, will I have to reassociate it each time?

I have never used a bluetooth connection before...
