About 30% of the time when I start the computer it gets stuck at the ThinkPad Screen "To interupt normal start up press blue button"

I have to shut down and restart the machine by pressing the power button, then things are fine. I am running Windows 7 64Bit.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Have you run system update, there are some Windows updates that address slow startup

Windows update would have nothing to do with being stuck at the BIOS screen.

Check to see if you have any devices plugged into the machine. Unplug all USB devices and see if the problem persists.

I think the windows update that aznguyphan is mentioning is probably http://support.microsoft.com/kb/977419. I don't think it will help the OP but it might help someone else with a slow boot!

The only think I have plugged in to USB is the mini transmitter for my logitech mouse. Although I have it plugged into the "always on" USB port does that matter?

As an experiment, try removing your USB receiver before booting for the next several days and see if it resolves the issue. I had a 17" Dell XPS laptop for work a while back and it REFUSED to past the post screens if I turned it on with my Microsoft Ergo Keyboard (I think it was the Ergo 4000) plugged in no matter what I tried or what BIOS settings I tweaked. If I let it get into the Windows splash screen before plugging the keyboard back in, it was fine. So yeah you can get weird things with USB affecting the boot sometimes...

If the usb mouse is the cause of the problem try to rearrange the boot order in the BIOS, place usb as the last place in the order.
