    Will the T500 be able to output audio to a TV via a Displayport to HDMI cable? I had read that the chipset supports this, but T400 models wouldnt work. Anyone have information?

    If not, it looks like the Dell Latitude is the better solution...

    As far as I know the thinkpad's implementation of displayport does not output audio (on any model so far).

    No you cannot, the audio is not supported by the chipset

    Yes it is. Just not in the thinkpads' implementation. We have discussed this before and have found that the chipset is not the issue inherently as audio can be passed.

    If it is then it can be fixed by a simple bios update, but i doubt it can be
