Got a broke e430 from a friend, turns out the keyboard cables weren't in all the way, easy fix, shoved Mint on there and replaced the 4GB RAM stick with 2 matching 4GB sticks. For some reason, whenever I shut it down, i have to swap the RAM sticks around in the slots, otherwise it will spin up the HDD, the Thinkpad light will light up, then it'll shutdown. Anyone have any ideas?

One or both sticks of ram are no good. I have had the same problem in the past.

Hello! I've got e430 laptop with i5, ssd and 8g of ram, and i want to play some games on such a powerful machine. Is it possible to attach an external video card to my laptop? Are there any successful cases?

    Holy thread resurrection.

I assume you are referring to an EGPU. There's a thread about that around here somewhere.

    EDIT: Found one http://forum.notebookreview.com/e-gpu-external-graphics-discussion/418851-diy-egpu-experiences-1186.html
