Currently I am only using the fingerprint reader to log onto my TP and I love it. No more typing in passwords and I disabled the option to type passwords so that no one else can even log in unless they have my finger :D

I would like to use this feature to log into certain sites such as this or any sites that require a member log in option. I've looked at the options from Thinkvantage, but I coudn't find anything like, but many members here have reported they have logged into sites using the reader. If so, can I ask, how do you accomplish this? Any help would be appreciated!

I have the same problem, could it be some problem with the Password Manager not working with IE7?

Just make sure you don't loose that finger..LOL..I reg. two of fingers just in case ;)
Anyways. Looks like this is possible. According to this(see below) there is an option under password management. Like zurfer65 said above.

The Lenovo support was a disappointment, no one there had a clue that this feature even existed.

I just got my T61 today and I am looking for an answer to the issue addressed in this thread. With the Password Manager, you can only store passwords. What I would like to do is have the swipe of my finger take the place of entering (or having saved in PM) passwords. Does anyone know how/if this is possible? If so, could you please provide a brief tutorial. Thanks in advance!

Ok guys I figured it out!

You must download and install ThinkVange Client Security Solution and activate the ThinkVantage Password Manager.

The password software is a bit clunky but in order to get the fingerprint reader to function on websites you have to go into the custom settings of website entries and specify fingerprint protection "Always" not "Once on boot-up."

Once you navigate to a website with a saved password in Password Manager, it will prompt you to swipe your finger. Once recognized, the software will recall and enter in the field your user name and password. I prefer this option to a master swipe. It is super convenient and "The Password Manager program stores all information through the embedded security chip so that access to applications and Web sites remain totally secure."
