I just bought a W510 and i should have it tomorrow and i m moving back to Hong Kong next month for my master degree. i bought the 3 yrs deport warranty and i check the International warranty service (iws) on Lenovo webpage with my machine type 4318 and it shows the warranty is granted in Hong Kong Lenovo. do i need to show my reciept or passport to the service center???

Last time I checked the Lenovo service centre in Hong Kong is still the same old one IBM used. I would bring the receipt just incase. I am pretty sure for Thinkpads there is a 24hr turn around time too, unless they have recently changed it, their service centre is at such an obscured location though. :-/

That should be fine. Or maybe the invoice that came with the notebook? To be honest I can't remember if Thinkpads have service tags or not. :p Last time I handled one was a couple or weeks ago (T61) and I have forgotten already haha.

it's not that obscure...it's 5 minutes from the quarry bay mtr station!

for thinkpads most problems should be solved in 2 hours...you get a text message on your phone when its ready for collection (i got mine about a hour and a lalf later last time

It's obscure enough for someone who lives on the far left side of the MTR map like me :p haha. Their turn around time is really quite impressive though. The HP one is at TST. :D
