That's actually pretty sweet. I wonder if they have any like rubber or silicone thinkpad skins. Anyone know?

I wonder if I were to put one of those on my thinkpad, what are the chances of damaging the original lcd cover?

What do you mean what are the chances? Depends how you treat your laptop, heh. I assume it would help a little bit from just dings and scratches to the LCD cover.

This skin would trick me into wanting to feel soft leather but getting flat vinyl instead.

Jaredy, I think Stealth might have been referring to if the skin would peel off parts of the original cover when removed.

Yeah, that is what I meant, I know it protects, but what happens when I want to take it off? Is there that residue left behind like stickers or what?

Ohhh. Hmm, well since we have a rubber paint coating the adhesive would have to be strong since it is not a perfectly flat surface. I guess that would be a good question to ask the company. But you might be able to heat it a little bit and peel it off easier (but it might leave residue?).

Wow, didn't know these existed.... I might get one of these, I'm tired of how dirty my cover looks all the time. The standard rubber coating always gets a little dirty coming out of my case and stuff.

The carbon one looks interesting as well.

I got one for my Dell XPS M1330 and it does make a big difference. I like it very much and think my notebook would look naked without it.

Residue is in my experience very easy to remove. If u have adhesive residue, take a little bit of ordinary sewing machine oil and spread it on the cover with a soft rag in a circular motion. This will remove all the gunk. Then, use some Windex (dun use this on the screen) or diluted isopropyl alcohol and clean off the oil with another rag. Good as new.

However, I personally don't care for using stickers on a laptop. It's meant to be used and abused. Babying it too much detracts from using it.

    reply from SGP about R400 fitment;

" Thank you for contacting SGP Customer Service.
If you can not find the model name of your device from our website, that means we do not have the product for that device.
We do not suggest our customers to use product made for different model of device, because our designers custom tailor each of devices, and some of those look alike but have different measurement and alignment
    ."

    Thanks,

my problem is that my skin is a bit oily (such that I can't wear fake gold and whatnot cause it will turn my skin colors) and the lcd cover is a fingerprint magnet.

Have you ever tried removing the lid? If so, how bad is the residue?

    They really do.

    Thanks for posting this.

So, I guess this means that none of these will work with the newer T-Series (400/500) models?
