Hi there, new here.
Just got a Thinkpad R500 with a 2.1GHz Penryn CPU, 4GB RAM, WSXGA+ screen, ATI graphics, etc. Just put in an Intel G2 SSD as well.
Very nice machine! Solid as a rock and can't tell it apart from the T500 except if I place it next to one. And only then you can see that it is marginally thicker. But what a great machine. Completely underrated.
Anyhow I noticed that my CPU is a T6570 which is 800MHz but it is on a 1066MHz capable mobo with PC8500 RAM as well.
Does that mean that the RAM runs at 800MHz as well? Not that it bothers me - this thing flies either way. But curious though.
Second and last question. I have read about people suggesting installing Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver to go along with a SSD. I am running Windows 7 and just installed the Intel Matrix Storage driver. Everything works fine and benchmarks are fine as well but just wondering about the difference between the two Intel drivers?
Enlighten me please. Thanks to all.
