I have been experiencing some issues while booting up. Right after I pressed power button, I get "four cycles of four short beeps and a blank screen."
From http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-46018, it shows the cause as "System board (Security chip)."
However, it doesn't tell me what else to do to troubleshoot. Any suggestions?
Note: I have TPM enabled running BitLocker in Vista

I'm guessing you can't get into windows? Can you get into your bios? If you can get into your bios, maybe there is an option to disable the security chip?
You should post this over at thinkpads.com forums, they really know there stuff over there. -
Most of the time I can't get into Windows.
The current work around is that if Thinkpad was plugged in when the beeping takes place, I will just unplug the A/C. Similarly, if it happens when the machine is not plugged in, I plug in the A/C. That seems to alieve some of the problem. But still, there are no explanations, as to why the security chip was left in such a bad state.
I would actually not want to disable the TPM because I need it to protect my data. If I can get it to work properly, I get my money worth.
As per your suggestions, I have posted the same quesiton on Thinkpads forum. Still, if anyone has any ideas, feel free to reply. I monitor both places. Thank you!
