I have been putting up with this for about 6 months now but it is starting to drive me insane. Now, ive tried to find a replacement fan but I have had no luck whatsoever. Is there anyway for me to fix this myself? I will be buying a new laptop around November so i need just a quick fix to tide me over until then, if possible...

This is the noise that I have to put up with day in day out.

    I hope someone can help.

The noise is pretty nasty, have you tried cleaning the fan to see there aren't any debris clogging up the CPU fan as it sounds like it's brushing against something. Can of compressed air and vacuum cleaner (while holding the fan) can get some of the stuff out.

I would recommend taking the CPU fan out physically and clean it instead of working within the vents, use the hardware maintenance manual on instructions on how to do this.

I have all ready done this many times and it has never ever made a difference. I think there is something wrong with the actual fan.. ive cleaned it so many times its like a hospital inside it

Wow, that thing sounds like my 5HP Briggs and Stratton push mower.

If you have already cleaned the machine time and time agian, I'd be giving Lenovo a call right about now, and see what they can do to help.
There is no WAY I could live with that noise.

All the fan part numbers should be in the HMM if you want the replacement part number.

I would replace it, but for £50 id rather put up with it or try and fix it myself. I cant justify spending that much.
