I really like the Thinkpads keyboard, but I also like the macs chicklet keyboard. I know Lenovo has placed chiclet keyboards on the edge, but is there a way I can get a chiclet keyboard on the t410s? Using the edge keyboard maybe?

I don't think so. And I don't see how that's "sacrilege", everyone has their own preferences. ;)

Using Dell keyboards for a long time, going to chicklet is pretty bad. Apple's chicklet is okay, but most other ones are pretty bad. I like the Lenovo keyboard just as much as the older styled Dells.

Just quickly determining the dimensions, doesn't look like the Edge 14 keyboard will fit in a T410s...

no I don't think you can change the keyboard like that. You can buy the Apple wireless keyboard and use that, I am typing on mine right now and it's pretty good, not too many erroirs ;)

I really really like the apple keyboard. It's just so responsive, but I'm not sure it' worth it. Isn't it kind of awkward to use an keyboard and a Thinkpad. Isn't the screen too far away?

No, the keyboards are not compatible - the number of rows is different, so size-wise, it wouldn't even fit. I don't really like Apple's chiclet keyboard all that much, but I like Lenovo's "sculpted chiclet" design used in the Edge and X100e/X120e.

Hmm ... I have seen some people do it.

But for me it is awkward, just because I got used to typing to typing directly on the laptop itself.

there is only one type of keyboards used on T410s, which is what you got now. Unless you can fabricate or modify an existing chicklet keyboard to retrofit the Thinkpads of yours. This is not something should be attempted by the faint hearted and without some prior experiences in doing such things.

I like Edge keyboard, and i am a T410i user. T410i keys are more comfortable to type but edge is quieter. The type-feeling is almost the same between both models.

Edge keyboard definitely will not fit in to T410x frame. Design wise, edge key is water resistant in a such the water will float around it, so you have to lift and invert the laptop almost upside-down to get rid off it. T series using sewer and drain holes, the water just flow within the laptop structure and went out underneath.

If you like chicklect then check out Edge's and then if you like it get E220s or E420s ;)

Not for me. But I probably have better than 20/20 vision so I would be an atypical person to ask. (I also have a wireless trackball)
