Okay, I am sure you have "all" gone through this.... "What do I do with these "dangone" thinkpads??

I am running Windows 8 (home edition) on an X61, I recently purchased Windows 8 Pro (32bit, by accident), so I am faced with...what do I do??

    I have a total of 9 Thinkpads.

    X40 (XP)
    X41 (XP
X41T, non working, No Screen Display.
    X60T (2) (XP and Win7)
    X61T (Win8)
    X200T (Win7)
    X200 (Win7)
    R50 (XP)

Now, on my X60T (XP), I run a budget program that does not run in Win7. Now, I have a 500GB drive and a 750GB drive available. I tried to install XP Tablet on the 500 and it failed after about 3 attempts. I am guess it is the HD limitation, since it most likely is XP SP1 or SP2. So I was thinking about running the Windows 8 Pro on the X60T and running the budget program on the X41, or running the Windows 8 Pro on the X41??

I am planning to sell the R50 and X41T. I tried to install Windows 8 Pro on the R50, but fail, don't remember the reason. Any thoughts??

Get rid of all of these...

I'd keep one X6x tablet with the higher (1400x1050) resolution - if available - and get rid of the rest.

If no SXGA+ tablet is on the list, I'd keep X200T instead.

Those are advanced format drives. When installing XP on them, a different approach is required.

CPU on R50 doesn't support W8 or vice versa...

I'd keep the X200T. But only if you wanted me to pay for the priority shipping. :D

Thanks for the reply, I found the reply very helpful. I will be getting rid of the X40 series notebooks in Jan, along with the R50. I went ahead and installed, (clean), Windows 8 on the X60 Tablet, 500GB drive. installed just fine. When I went to add the free "media center" features, it asked me to activate with the orginal product key, so I did, (had some issues, since I had previously installed it, I had to call and get a new activation code). Then I adde the new feature product key, installed the features and done. Then I get a "Action Center" alert to activate. Called customer service, no help, typed some FUIU codes, product keys and then told to me to call a other number. Stated that my copy was an upgrade and that is why I was having issues. If it was an upgrade, then why did I do a "clean" install. Maybe someone can answer the quesiton. This is what I bought: Windows 8 Pro Traditional Disc by Office Depot and used. Is this an upgrade or full verision?? I will run the windows 8 pro until it deactivates and then move back to the old drive. By the way, the Budget program ran just fine in Windows 8, funny that it did not Windows 7, but Windows 8, it does. Any input would be appreciated.
