This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Can someone please give me some instructions to use the Software Installer program that came with my new Thinkpad? I just received the computer last week and was prompted by the IBM Message Center there were updates available. Looks like I have to download the update then go to the Installer to load the update. I see there are a few items that are in bold and some that are not. What does this mean and how do I make sure I get the updates installed properly?
