To start off, I am planing on attending NC State university in the fall for mechanical engineering. As many of you may know, getting a laptop is essential to success in college. With that being said, NC State has put out a pricing list for their school-supported Thinkpads. The only problem is that the specs seem a little confusing.
    Heres the link:
    http://www.eos.ncsu.edu/soc/purchasing/pricing_specs.php

    (looking at the 64575KU- $2199)
Please help me sort out the following if you can:
    A) Which CPU (current c2d or santa rosa?)
    B) Whcih GPU (X1400 or firegl?)
    C) Which model thinkpad?

    Thanks in advance!!

All the T series listed come with Core2Duo.

I'd get the 766312U and get another 1GB of ram to bring it up to 2GB.
Vista seems to run best on 2GB I hear.
