    Hello,

My fathers company has asked him to purchase a couple of thinkpads. However he is restricted to the T series. Says all that matters is the fastest CPU and maximum amount of storage available.

Now i've only dealt with Hp, Mac and ASUS so i'm not knowledgeable as to there to get them or deals or who is reputable to buy from. Also he would prefer linux if possible already on it.

    Thnx

Recently, it was announced that Lenovo would offering ThinkPads with SUSE Linux installed. Not sure if SUSE floats your dad's company's boat though.

Best place to buy it from is Lenovo directly, as not many brick&mortar stores carry it nor offer the same kind of variety in hardware options. In fact, your company could strike some sort of corporate deal with Lenovo.

Just as a very small and insignificant note - you will most likely get the new IBM-less ThinkPad logo on the ones that you order - and as PlayMaker said you probably will get a discount by ordering through Lenovo Corporate Sales. Best Buy does carry Lenovos, as well as Best Buy for Business, but then again I'm sure dealing with the manufacturer themselves will provide a better discount?

I seriously doubt that a company cares about whether or not the "nostalgic" IBM logo is on their laptops.

Johnny, this is a public forum. I already stated in my post that yes it is an insignificant detail. Get over it.
