    Thinkpad T400 Microphone Issues

    I have a Thinkpad T400 (2764-CTO) laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate (32-bit) and I'm unable to get the microphone to work. This seems to be a common problem but after doing a lot of Googling and reading a lot of forum threads, I'm still unable to solve the problem.

    I've downloaded and installed all the Windows updates and also used the Lenovo System Updater but still can't get any luck. The driver installed is Conexant 20561 SmartAudio HD (ver 4.92.10.0) which is the download from the Lenovo support site. I tried using the Diagnostics tool in ThinkVantage Toolbox and when I test the microphone it comes back saying there are no problems. Also, after the updates I've tried uninstalling and then re-installing the driver with no luck.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'd be happy to provide more information about the system, just let me know. Thanks in advance for any help!
