i read some reviews that mentioned keyboard flex in the thinkpad t400. on the other hand, i also read yet another article that described how they did engineering tests to see how much the keyboard would flex and concluded just the opposite. but i would like to hear from actual users of the computer who tested it with their hands rather than someone who did these obscure tests with a machine![]()
given this, what exactly do they mean by "keyboard flex"? i assume based on what i'm reading so far that it means how much the keyboard bends when typing on it, but i could be wrong.
also, has anybody actually used the t400's keyboard? how does it feel? does it "flex" (whatever that means)? does it bend or deform in any way?

You can see the keyboard flex in this video:

ouch, that looks pretty bad. i watched as it bent when he poked it with one finger. i wonder if that will happen if i just type. i am a pretty hard and fast typist.

Okay I have a T400 and myne is not nearly as bad. Under normal to heavy typing pressure it does not flex. However, like in the video if u press hard enough in one spot it will flex.

I have a T500 that i jsut got last week, and there is no flex.. you seriously will have to push to get any kind of flex.
