For you guys with a T400/T500, has anyone had any problems output through the VGA connection to a HD monitor (1920x1080). I am looking to buy a larger size monitor to get dual monitor capability, would like to know any drawbacks.

Anyone recommends any monitors, I am looking for 22"-24" monitor. Samsung or Dell?

My only problem is that 1920x1080 is too small on 52" at 8-10 feet away.

Seriously though, the VGA output looks and works fine on my T500.

If you get a T500, you should probably use a DisplayPort to DVI or HDMI adapter as it will yield slightly better quality (especially crispness of text) than VGA.

I've only tested the VGA on my x200 Tablet at 1680x1050. It worked well enough, was perfect for video, but there is a small amount of artifacting around text. This is a result of analog noise in the VGA signal.

It really depends on what you're doing, and the quality of the monitor, on whether VGA is adequate.

The Dell Ultrasharp 2209WA is a great value. It is one of, if not the absolute, cheapest IPS monitors available. It also has a rotating display, VGA & DVI (w/ HDCP), and a built in USB hub. The only possible downside is that it's 1680x1050 rather than 1920x1080 (not ideal for a PS3 or other device that only outputs at TV resolutions); but as a PC monitor it is better than almost everything else at its price point.
