I have a Thinkpad T400 and attempted to put in a DDR3 DDR-1333 4GB Apacer memory in it. The module has 4 memory chips on either side.

I tested it inside a friend's laptop and it worked properly, but it keeps beeping when I put it in either of the two slots (It seems to be the 1 3 3 1 beeping pattern, which indicates DRAM issues).

I already attempted setting BIOS to the defaults and upgrading my BIOS. It seems that my only option is having it returned. Does someone have another idea?

    Thanks in advance

Return it, it's really that simple...

I try to stay away from no-name brands when it comes to RAM. Crucial, Mushkin, Kingston have never failed me. YMMV.

I haven't known Lenovo to be really picky with no name RAM, but it maybe the case.

I returned the memory stick and it turned out to have been a compatibility issue.
