Looks like the the Intel 80GB SSD option is finally available for the T400s. Does anyone have the details of this Intel SSD? Is it G1 or G2? TRIM support? Any other information available?

Where are you seeing this? The configuration pages I'm looking at (USA standard or CPP) don't have it. If it's that new of an option, though, it's unlikely that anyone here can say for certain. Your best bet is to call and ask a rep at Lenovo. Be aware, though, that unless you get it in writing, you're not guaranteed it. I heard of one case where someone had ordered the Intel 80GB ssd with the computer, and it came with a 128GB samsung. They complained, and Lenovo said "but it's more, and it was for free!"

    Just a word of caution.

Probably won't know until someone orders it. They may use one or both.

On the 27th of Oct I called in to ask about this. The rep was unable to confirm whether it was a G1 or a G2. He said, "They're probably the G2 since we just got them in this week." I'm not holding my breath though.

It only shows up under the Enhanced configuration. Not the base model. Not sure what Lenovo is trying to achieve with this.

Hmm, interesting. Because the standard page doesn't have an "Enhanced" model; only the CPP. And it's not an option for the "multitouch" version, even though you can upgrade the Enhanced for the same price difference. Go figure.

Not sure what are you referring to. I always see three models - Base, Enhanced and Multi-touch and I am not on CPP.

That is good skepticism but we really can't know. An OEM might be able to get its hand on supply first.

But I agree, I wouldn't hold my breathe for it.
