    Thinkpad T41 Display Problem

    Hi! I have a Thinkpad T41 (old tech, I know) and one day I come back to find the screen like in the attached photo. Is there a fix for this or must I send it in to tech shops for repairs (warranty is over AFAIK).

    PS: I know this is a screen issue because I was able to login/logout by clicking in random areas and getting the login screen.

    looks like you loaded the wrong video driver. Start up your laptop in safe mode then delete the video drivers and install the correct one

    Yes I have tried attaching an external monitor and it works beautifully with it

    And it is for that exact reason why I don't think its a driver problem.

    You've been waiting a bit long for an answer here. If you try over at thinkpads.com they are pretty quick to diagnose these things, try those forums.
