Has anyone taken the plunge on one of these? I like the specs, but the only thing I'm hesitant about is the core i3-330M. I dont think it would be an issue as I will primarily use it running linux for web browsing, music, and video, nothing too resource intensive. I just wonder if it will come back on me in the future. Can you upgrade the CPU in the T-series? Any help would be great.

the i3 performance in the T410si is pretty much on par with the CPU performance in the T400s CPU. The T410s and T400s CPU are physically soldered to the motherboard, so you can't upgrade the CPU as such without physically replacing the entire motherboard.
But the price of the machine that you linked is pretty cheap, considering that the T400s at the outlet.lenovo.com is retailing for 899 dollars. -
The Core i3 will do the tasks you mentioned easily so I wouldn't worry about it too much, it is a very capable processor for the price.
My understanding is the T410si comes from the same family as the T410s which means is uses the BGA1288 socket that is prevalent on ultraportable machines. In otherwords this CPU is soldered on the system board so you can't just freely swap it for a higher CPU. If you opt for the standard T410 model (including T410i) then you can upgrade the CPU for a higher model (Core i3>i5>i7) that uses the µPGA-988 socket. -
Thanks for the responses. I wouldn't mind getting a T410 for the same price as long as the screen resolution was the same but Lenovo seemed to have removed the wxga+ option from the configuration choices ;-/
The T400s in the outlet doesn't seem like a bad deal either, but it doesn't have bluetooth, and once I add taxes I might as well get the T410si. -
they are pretty much equal in performance but slightly differs in the exact config

they are the same machine, so i don't know how i can recommend one over another. Personally i would take the T410si for the fact that the GPU is better.
