Well, just got my T43 and it seems pretty nice. Slightly warm on the right palm rest, but sounds just like the description on the review.

My question is this, after the computer has been on for around 15 minutes, the fan comes on and stays on (it has been on now for 4 hours). The air blowing out now is cool, so I am surprised that it is still on. Is there a way to lower or change the frequency of when the fan comes on?

    Thanks...

I had same problem and then sent it to IBM service to fix it. I am waiting for it.
Whenever the fan noise increases, you can reduce the fan noise by clicking the power manager icon and selecting your current default setting again.
After selecting any of selection, the fan noise will dramatically reduce in seconds.
However, this is an instant treatment.
The fan noise will increase after a while.. :)
Then do the same procedure again.

My experience is that setting the CPU to "adaptive" speed will reduce the temperature as well as the fan noise, because then the CPU isn't at top speed unless it's necessary.
