Greeting I've been seeing in pictures this chain alike symbol on the lower right corner of the touchpad. Can somebody tell me what it is or what it is for? Thank you.

Do note, however, that at the current time no US Thinkpad T440s models are configurable with NFC.

    Thank you
Should I understand that the picture is not accurate and the laptop doesn't have NFC and the symbol? :)

The laptop in the picture might have it so the picture might be accurate. That doesn't change the fact that you can't buy such a model currently.

As clarification: MidnightSun already said it, but this feature is country-specific. The US models can't (yet) be equipped with NFC as he said, but you can add NFC in the German Lenovo Webshop for example.

My T440s is an Education Model ordered in Germany and has the NFC Touchpad, but as of yet it is of limited use to me, I only tried to "beam" links from my Nexus 7 or read out some data from RFID-Cards.
Maybe worth to have as NFC evolves and spreads in the future.
