Hey all,
For the people who have a T60, does anyone know the size of the base stick of ram (the one that's inaccessible) if you choose the 1.5 GB ram model for the T60? I was told by Lenovo that it would be the 512 mb stick and there would be no way to make it the 1 gig, but I don't know if the rep just didn't know what he was talking about because it really doesn't make sense to do it that way.
Thanks in advance.

Call a different rep, tell them you want 2GB in the machine instead of 1.5, 2 x 1GB SODIMM.

Since when is there an inaccessible stick? They're both accessible from what I could tell when I had the palmrest off.
-
One is under the palmrest, the other is below the machine (easier to insert).
-
Um....not on my T60. On my T60 there are 2 slots below the palmrest
-
Perhaps it was the older versions then, T43 ect.
-
Ah yes, on the T60 when they changed the location of the HDD to make it easier to access they moved both ram sticks under the palmrest.

I think he mentioned this because of the sale on for 1.5GB (total) of RAM.
Basically 1 stick of 1GB for $99 total 1.5GB or 1.5GB for $198 total 2GB.
The first one is a better deal. I would prefer 2 sticks of 1GB each. -
There are 2 dimm slots. The standard memory configuration is a 500 MB stick in a slot and none in the other.
If you upgrade it to a total of 1GB, you will get one 1 GB stick in a slot and none in the other. It would cost you $90.
If you upgrade it to a total of 1.5GB, you will get one 500 MB sitick in a sltot and one 1 GB stick in the other. It will cost you $99. I've got this one.
If you upgrade it to a total of 2 GB, you will get one 1 GB stick in each slot and it will cost you $260.
