    Hi,

I have Thinkpad T60 2007 F2G laptop. Whenever i install ATI Radeon X1300 Graphics driver and reboot it, I always get NMI Parity error.
I then uninstall and use the default VGA driver. This gives me flickering screen.
I have sent my laptop for repair in IBM service center and they are suggesting to change my motherboard itself. I am not sure whether i should go by that suggestion since its not in warranty period any more and would cost me more.

Please let me know if there can be any other solution than as suggested by IBM service center.

    Thanks for the help.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Ajay

you can still extend the warranty on out of warranty laptop by getting the post warranty service agreement through Lenovo service. It works out much cheaper than getting it fixed out of warranty.

Unfortunately in India, IBM service center is not willing to extend the warranty as the laptop is now faulty.
Is there any other way to fix this problem..
laptop is getting displayed in 3/4 of screen and is flickering... hopefully i dont need to change the whole of motherboard as suggested by IBM service center.
Is there a possibility of changing display chip on the motherboard ??

the cpu is physically soldered to the motherboard.

You can try to change the LCD connection cable first, and see what happens.
