Hi guys, yesterday I decided to reformat my thinkpad t60 and now I cannot connect to the internet wirelessly. I downloaded the Intel PRO wireless 3945ABG Win Xp driver and when I go to network connections it will not connect. Ethernet on the other hand works fine. In addtion, the ThinkVantage
Access Connections will not connect wirelessly. Is there any other method to fix this? thanks in advance

can you not connect to any wireless network, or just your home network? what does it do, sit on acquiring network address?

the reason i ask is i have had problems with my linksys when i reformat. resetting the router has solved the problem. if you can connect fine to other wireless networks, it might be your router. if you are comfortable with your router, you could try resetting it.

First of all, make sure that your T60's wireless radio is activated. If Access Connections is installed, you will not be able to connect wirelessly through Windows XP. A message to that effect will appear in the Wireless Network Connection dialog box.

I would recommend using the ThinkVantage System Update tool to make sure that you have the very latest Access Connection drivers.

Thanks guys for your reply. Ill try the ThinkVantage System update but as of right now I cannot see any wireless networks. When I use the Intel Utility it says that Hardware radio is switch off. I tried enable/disabling the network and hitting ctrl + to no avail.

go into control panel then internet connections. right click the wireless network connections icon and on the popupmenu choose enable.

then left double click the same icon choose the second tab then repair.

I tried that but it does not work. It says that the wireless radio is turned off. To enable wireless, turn on the hardware radio switch. I try hitting Fn + F5 but nothing happens. How do I turn on the wireless radio?

    there are two options here.

fn + f5 is one way, but since that doesn't seem to work...

a hardware switch is the other, it is located on the front left.

there is another thread on this topic as well, don't know if there is anything there to truly solve the problem, but it is a good read, others seem to be having this same issue!
