In order to install a new version of ThinkPad Power Manager (I currently have an ancient version), do I need to uninstall the old version?

    Thanks

Well, the funny thing is that when I ran Lenovo System Update, it listed a number of newer drivers and fixes, but not Power Manager. Given the fact that my installed Power Manager is ancient (1.4), and the current Power Manager version is 3.65, you'd think that System Update would have listed it for installation.

The reason I'm concerned about Power manager is that I've been struggling with a memory parity error for months.
Having done troubleshooting, I've concluded that it's not the memory, it's not the GPU itself (although System Update recommends a newer driver), and someone with a great deal of experience with T60Ps said more often than not this problem is created by an old or buggy Power Manager.

At any rate, I downloaded Power Manager. I imagine that if I run it, the new version will automatically uninstall the older version. At least I hope so.

    Thanks

if you don't have XP Pro, that may be why a newer version of power manager isn't being picked up. you could always just remove the old power manager and install the new one, or try that if something goes wrong.

Sorry. I should have mentioned that I'm running Vista Ultimate 32.
