I've got 2 problems; My system was made on 01-20-2007 and had a 3 year next day warranty but today when I went and looked at my warranty status I see that it'll expire 04-26-09. I had checked before and it was always 01-20-2010. What gives?

Also my battery is giving me an error : "Irreparable damage to the battery has been detected. Replace the battery with a new one." I ran their little program and I am not a candidate for a replacement. It says even up to 6 months after the 1 year battery warranty expires they would replace it. Which would mean I have till 07-20-08. Any thoughts or experiences please share.

I would expect that you would be eligible for a new battery regardless of the time of failure. The 1.5 years before the warranty is triggered is probably for batteries that lose charge under normal usage.

A damaged battery (that is now operating outside of spec) would be eligible for replacement; at least that's my thinking.

And I would call up on the warranty. Lenovo doesn't offer any two-year three-month and six-day warranties that I'm aware of, that has to be clear to any rep you speak with.

It seems as though 04-26-07 was when I sent my laptop in for repair the first time. I believe they may have changed the motherboard. But all last year and up to recently may warranty was till 01-20-10

Well they said I am not eligible for a replacement because my battery is not on this list. Even though I am having the same defect. He said he can give me quotes on a new battery if I called another number.

My battery is 92P1133 and is not on the list so I don't qualify that was the voice mail they left me. About the warranty I need to talk to them about that.

The warranty lookup is sometimes wrong. Just give them a call and get it straightened out. The battery warranty is always one year. After that you're on your own.

Wow, so I mean it appears to be working fine except I get the errors from the lenovo mail box. So I have to spend like $140 for a new battery now, have 9 cell. I mean this really sucks. I didn't do anything wrong I never left it plugged in. I always charged once it got down below 8% and once it was fully charged I unplugged. Is it going to explode? The tech that called told me to unplug battery and use AC power only for now. Kind of defeats the purpose of a portable.
