Merry Christmas everyone,
I just ordered a thinkpad T61 on Lenovo Canadian web site yesterday. Going to run Linux on it.
I chose the one with quadro 140m w/ 128mb vram.
I remember I saw some articles on some other forums talked about upgrade the vram to 256/512 on thinkpads, couldn't find them right now.
So my question: is the vram on T61 upgradable? If it is, how? Any guide or tutorial around?

128 MB its a dedicated memory. But there's a capability to share it with ram(turbocache).
-
I believe its all automated based on need, ive see it read as 128 and all the way up to 512
-
Ok, I kind of understand what you are saying, so you mean it has 128 dedicated ram and can share the system ram up to 512 base on the application's need? Is there way to set it always use 512 shared ram?
Sorry never had a turbocache card before. -
I wish i knew, I would like it to be more liberal when it comes to allocating ram i'd always take video performance over RAM.
-
My T61p says the memory can be up to 512mb.
However I dont know either how to set 512mb.. -
does anyone know how to do it, it isnt in the bios
