    Hey guys

Haven't been here in ages, probably because my T61 is still running like a champ!

I'm looking for a SATA ultraslim HDD adapter, as I'm upgrading to a 500GB drive and want to put my current 320GB into the Ultraslim bay.

Does anyone have any opinion on this one?

SATA Caddy HDD Adapter for IBM 40Y8725 T60/T61/T61P - eBay (item 350345527313 end time May-24-10 08:38:16 PDT)

Is it too cheap to be true? Looks a little sketchy.

Otherwise, is there a cheap and reliable source that someone could suggest that ships to South Africa, per chance?

Many people have had good luck with the third-party (non-Lenovo) UltraBay HDD caddies, although some people have had a few issues. This one looks okay, although it really is impossible to say until you get your hands on it and test it out.

What kinda issues? As long as it works, doesn't mess up my precious and the HDD I'm sure I'd be okay with it.

The T61 ones are tricky, as they have to have a SATA to PATA bridge chip. If it works, they all should be good. The T400 is easier, it just passes SATA to SATA, but won't work in a T61.
