I just received my T61 and so far so good. Since there aren't too many instructions included, I have come here for some help. I am always being asked for permission for programs to run on the computer, for instance when I start up it asks for TPM key recovery to run. I cannot figure out how to turn this permission feature off. If anyone has any idea, it would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Garrett

I assume you are running Vista? If so, the reason why you are always asked for permission is due to the so-called 'User Account Control' feature. This is to protect your computer from outside interference.

If you find it too annoying you can choose to turn it off. To do this, go to Control Panel > User Accounts and then choose "Turn User Account Control on or off".

On a general note, since you are looking for instructions I would recommend you use the following help features:

    - Help and Support (Windows start button/globe > Help and Support)
    - Access Help (ThinkVantage > Access Help)
    - Help Center (ThinkVantage > Help Center)

But there's more. Since an update last week I am prompted for my password by lenovo client security. If informs me that my password has been changed recently which is has not. If I give it my password, that makes no difference. The next time I reboot it will prompt me. It is remarkably dumb. I can hit the cancel button and it will dissapear.

What I'd really like is to turn it off and stop bothering me after I've logged in.
