I know that Penryn's just recently became available on T61's, but I was wondering when IBM plans to upgrade the graphics card.

Probably not for a while. Nvidia is not exactly rolling out truckloads of new notebook video chip sets right now. Any new Nvidia card right now would be just a rehash of the 8x00 series cores already being used.

They aren't. Any change in graphics options will come in the next line of Thinkpads (e.g. T62).
