    Hi, all
Can you share your experience on how to clean the keayboard in T61p?

There is also occassional issue with a touch pad. Sometimes it starts scrolling everything down on its own as if Page Down key was pressed. What might be the reason for such a wierd behaviour and can it be sorted out by cleaning?

    All recommendations are appreciated.

Not sure the reason why the touchpad scrolls by itself.

BUT, for the cleaning of the keyboard, I generally take a damp lint-free cloth to it every few weeks or so. Every time I notice it start to get that "oily" look/feel, I then clean it.

No matter how often you clean it, you WILL notice that "shine" on the keys. That is inevitable. My T61 is going on almost 3 years old, and IMO still looks very good for a 3 year old laptop that gets used at LEAST 4+ hours daily.

Just wipe it down, and you should be fine.

    Thanks, MikesDell

But actually I meant inner part of it. When dust and others happen to fall down into it.

You can pop off all keys(one by one) to get to all the junk that is underneath them. I did it once in the 2 years I had my T61 and you wouldn't believe all of the hair that was in it.

Assuming this is what you're talking about. :p

it means to actually physically pull off the key cap.

Thanks, I actually thought so, but I am afraid of damaging the keys
Is it difficult to remove the key?

I physically removed the keyboard and shook out the larger loose particles while I was upgrading the CPU, and I regularly use a small feather duster to brush away dust between the keys.
