Hello denizens of the lenovo forum. I haven't posted here in well....forever since the t61p first came out. Anyway, my bay battery is at 3% and won't charge . I've tried it with just that battery in the computer and going to device manager to uninstall the batteries and then reinserting them, but to no luck. Any ideas or suggestions?

Did you try to re-calibrate in Power Manager?

I don't use the lenovo power manager, and I cant seem to find it under the common driver page at their website as it keeps coming up as file not found.

Well I got the power manager and it seems the battery is giving an error according to the software. Could the battery of just gone bad all of a sudden as it worked fine yesterday and held decent charge.

How old is the battery? The modular batteries wear out quickly because they always discharge first. There's no way to change it. I had the modular battery for my R60. It was at less than 50% of capacity after four months of use. I found getting the nine-cell to be a better solution, though it does add a bit of weight. My nine cell is at 85% of capacity and it's over a year old.

Well my nine cell works fine and I've had both for about a year and a half now. I mean it was holding a decent charge just the day before when it went to crap.

After the first year, they can go any time.
