I am about to order a new laptop. I honestly cannot decide between the t61p and the Sony. The orders person here wants me to get the Sony, but for the price, I cannot see that much of a difference.
I have been told the NVIDIA® GeForce® Go 7600 is much better then the NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M (256MB). The orders person claims I will be sorry if I order the t61, graphics card wise.

Does anyone have any opinions or suggestions?

    Thanks.

I like the t61 better overall, but the display on mine was absolutely unacceptable, ymmv.

If I could get a vaio close on specs and price, and could live with a downgrade in build quality, keyboard, and no trackpoint- I'd go sony just for the nicer display.

But once you get used to thinkpad keyboards, it's hard to sacrifice keyboard/trackpoint quality. I'd see if I could make a thinkpad work for me first. Not sure how much of a graphics difference there is.

You should really post this question in the "What notebook should I buy?" thread. This is the Lenovo thread so most responses will favor Lenovo. Also, these notebooks are quite different. The Sony has a 17" (and probably glossy) screen while the T61p has a 15.4" matte screen. They use different processors. They have different wifi options. These are just a few of the obvious differences. I don't know much about the Sony VGN-AR370 other than that.
