Just got my T61p this past Monday.
At home, I have a Netgear Draft-N gigabit wireless router so I made sure to get the "n" wireless option for my Thinkpad.

I also did the excellent Vista x64 clean install from the instructions on this forum.

I'm now (from an Vista Ultimate from the factory) dual booting XP Pro and Ultimate 64bit.

Anyway, at my previous job, I had a Z61m (I loved that laptop) with an N wireless card.

At home, it would always display ~ 300 as the connection speed.
    With my new T61p, I only show ~ 144 under both OS's.

Am I doing something wrong, missing a setting, etc?

    Thanks.

You're not doing anything wrong. It has been explained in the D-Link DIR-655 thread here.
