    Hi,

I purchased a used T520 laptop and ThinkVantage APS was not available for it either, both from the laptop's download page & Lenovo's System Update.

Having looked around a bit, it seems that newer versions of the software don't work well the the T20 line of Thinkpads.
It must have been officially withdrawn from the list of supported models for the software, because it is actually not there (skips to T530, haven't checked for W520)

I downloaded it from the L520 model download page and it did install with no problem, HOWEVER, I started getting lock-ups and errors in the Event Viewer (iastor - event 9).

Could be an issue of interaction with newer Intel Rapid Storage Driver as well.

I disabled the software from its settings in the Control Panel and errors have gone away.

For some other people its sensitivity had to be set to "Medium" instead of "High".

So, my advice is find an older version that works (the one in my laptop's preinstalled OS was an 1.7 version from 2010) or just skip it altogether if you don't need it, e.g. if you work on a desk

Excellent! Thank you, I will install this driver and see how it goes.

It is a wider issue, I think, if updating to newer edition software is actually better for older models.
