Will Lenovo offer a Thinkpad W530 with AMD 7970?

Or does anyone know if it's possible to install a 7970 in the W530? They use a miniPCI interface so it should be possible right?

The GPU is soldered to the motherboard. You're probably thinking of MXM interface, and IIRC that was only available on the W70x.

Yes as Colonel O'Neill pointed out, W series as of right now use soldered graphics. 7970M is a MXM card, Mobile PCI-eXpress Module, it is not compatible. Also W series is for rendering/CAD, Radeon is a gaming graphics card and will not run as well for rendering than a FirePro/Quadro.
